Energy Savings with Thermally Sensitive Paint?
7/30/2008 So I had an idea today: Paint a house with thermally sensitive paint. Why? Because in the winter we want our house to absorb as much energy as possible, while in the summer time we want to reflect energy away. If there are any thermally sensitive paints that change from white to black in a narrow temperature range (say black at 40 degrees Farenheit and white at 90 degree), we can absorb energy when it's cold but reflect it when its hot. This would help reduce heating and cooling costs.
